You should definitely have a (short) YouTube intro to generate brand consistency across your videos. Here are some of the best resources you can use to make your YouTube intro video:
My new favorite way for creating YouTube video intros is to use VideoHive. If you have a program like Apple Motion or Adobe After Effects, you can get a template from VideoHive and customize it to create your own intro video. Just search the site for “opener” or “intro” and you’ll find some awesome templates for your YouTube videos.
This is how I get all my YouTube intros made. I pay someone $5 on Fiverr and within a couple of days I have a pretty good YouTube intro video. This is the easiest way in my opinion. Just sort by “High Rating” (try to find a top rated seller) and choose a gig that fits your needs.
With FlixPress you can create a free account and use one of their free templates to create a simple animated intro video. Once you find the template you want to use, click on it and type in your text and wa-la. FlixPress also has premium templates that you can pay for if you want.
Panzoid ClipMaker is a free online tool that you can use to create your own animated intro video. The interface is a bit complicated, but if you play around with it long enough you’ll figure it out. Once you’re done customizing it you can download the final video for free. Panzoid also has a free tool that helps you create your YouTube channel art.
Video Editing Program
If you don’t want to use any of those options you can always create a simple intro using your video editing program on your computer. Just add a background, text, transitions, and some royalty-free music and you got yourself a simple intro for your YouTube videos. Just export the video and keep the file on your computer so you can easily add it to your future videos.
The #1 Tip for Intros
Keep it short. I highly recommend keeping the intro video length at 5 seconds or less. If it’s any longer it will interfere with your viewer’s experience. So keep it short and sweet. 5 seconds max and your viewers will be happy.
